White Label Food Products — From Origin, Canada-Ready Labels

Levant Direct runs white label programs on products already in our catalogue — spices, za'atar, natural oils and canned preserves — where the recipe, blend and pack format stay exactly as supplied, and only the label carries your brand instead of the producer's. It's the lighter-touch route into a branded line: no recipe development, no new production run, just a relabeled version of a case that already exists.

Every white label run is quoted on request rather than priced against a published rate card, and the same written-quotation process applies whether you're relabeling one SKU or a starting range.

What white label means here

White label and private label are often used loosely, but they're different programs: white label keeps the product exactly as it exists in our range and swaps only the label, while private label adjusts the recipe or format to a buyer's own specification. This page covers the white label route — a faster, lower-commitment way to put a brand on a product that's already proven in the catalogue, across spices, za'atar, natural oils and canned preserves.

Getting a label Canada-ready

A relabeled food product sold in Canada still has to carry its mandatory label information — common name, net quantity, ingredient list and more — in both English and French, regardless of who designed the artwork. That compliance responsibility moves to you as the brand owner once a product is relabeled, the same way it does for any repackaged line.

One newer requirement worth planning around: since January 1, 2026, most prepackaged foods high in sodium, sugars or saturated fat need a front-of-pack nutrition symbol in addition to the standard Nutrition Facts table. A white-labeled spice blend or canned preserve can fall under that rule depending on its sodium content — worth checking against the product's actual composition before artwork is finalized, not after.

How a white label run works, start to finish

Because the underlying product doesn't change, a white label inquiry is mostly about case count and label artwork: tell us the product, the volume, and that it's a white label order, and the quotation comes back the same way any other inquiry does — usually within one business day. There's no fixed minimum run published; it's quoted per project against the specific product and origin house involved.

Where white label fits against a fuller program

White label suits a first branded SKU or a quick market test. If you outgrow it and want a recipe, blend or pack format adjusted to your own specification, that moves into a custom sourcing conversation instead — the two aren't mutually exclusive, and plenty of buyers start with a white-labeled line and layer in custom work later.

Buying questions, answered

What's the difference between white label and private label here?

White label keeps the product exactly as supplied and changes only the label. Private label adjusts the recipe, blend or pack format to your specification — a bigger project with more lead time.

Does a white-labeled product still need bilingual English/French labeling?

Yes. Canadian retail food labels must carry mandatory information in both languages regardless of who owns the brand on the package.

Is there a minimum order for a white label run?

No fixed minimum is published — it's quoted per project against the specific product, case format and origin house involved.

Does a white-labeled spice blend need Canada's new front-of-pack symbol?

It depends on the product's sodium, sugar and saturated fat content. Since January 1, 2026, foods above the relevant thresholds need a front-of-pack nutrition symbol — worth checking before your label artwork is finalized.
